Borr Drilling’s Mist jack-up staying in SE Asia till October, as LOA signed with unnamed client

Jack-up drilling contractor Borr Drilling has won a letter of award for it Mist offshore drilling rig.
In its fleet status report released on Monday, Borr said the LOA was for a period between May and November 2019, with an undisclosed client.
Borr said on Monday the client would have an option to further extend the contract, but it did not say for how long.
While Borr Drilling did not disclose the dayrate, Norwegian rig brokers Bassoe Offshore estimated it to be around $70,000.
The rig, formerly owned by Transocean, was recently used by KrisEnergy in the Gulf of Thailand. The rig is of the Keppel FELS Super B Bigfoot Classand was delivered from Keppel FELS Shipyard in 2013.
Apart from the deal for the Mist, Borr also said it has won a contract with Neptune Energy in the Netherlands for the Prospector 5 jack-up rig. As previously reported, Borr had in March said it had signed a letter of intent for the rig but hadn’t revealed the name of the client to be.
The company on Monday said the contract with Neptune would start in April and last until October 2019. The dayrate was not disclosed.
