CAPMAS: Industrial output up 27.6% in 3rd quarter of 2018

CAIRO, May 19 (MENA) – The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said the industrial output (excluding crude and refined oil) upped by 27.6 percent to stand at EGP 185.3 billion in the third quarter of 2018 against EGP 145 billion in the corresponding period in 2017.

In the quarter annual bulletin, the CAPMAS said the industry of iron, steel, precious metals and foundries contributed the lion’s share to the industrial output in the third quarter of 2018.

The food industries contributed by 16.1 percent to the industrial output.

The industry of chemical products’ contribution stood at EGP 28.8 billion in the aforementioned period, while the furniture industry contributed EGP 0.8 billion.
