Parliament approves Min. of Manpower draft budget of 2019/2020

CAIRO – 16 May 2019:The House of Representatives approved the Ministry of Manpower’s draft budget for the fiscal year 2019/2020.

The Ministry of Manpower recommended reviewing Article number 12 of the ministry’s budget related to visas that have been suspended for 3 months and will be resumed in the coming three months; thus preventing the completion of vocational training.

The ministry explained that each trainee is paid LE 20 a day and is offered a set of free services, assuring that the ministry’s main resources come from the foreigners’ licenses, through which the ministry achieves revenues away from the state’s budget.
The ministry’s request to increase the budget allocated for establishing a building for the Manpower Directorate in Cairo to move from its current place in Mogamma El Tahrirto LE 11 million was also approved.

In a similar vein,the Ministry of Manpower signed an agreement with the Ministry of Military Production to create a network connecting all governorates. This development process will cost more than LE 100 million and will be divided to phases.

Moreover, the Ministry of Manpower launched a developing program to upgrade 12 bureaus and facilitate electronic connection with the Egyptian expatriates.
For her part, Parliamentarian Solaf Darwish said that development cannot be divided to stages as technology is upgraded daily, stressing that this will increase the cost of the development process.
