Egypt’s exports to Japan hit $247M in 2 months

CAIRO – 16 May 2019: Egypt’s exports to Japan recorded $247 million during January and February 2018, compared to $123 million during the same months of 2017, with an increase that exceeded 100 percent.

Clothes and dried vegetables came at the top of Egypt’s exports to Japan.
Egypt’s imports reached $837 million in 2017, compared to $1.1 billion in 2016. In 2016, Egypt’s exports to Japan recorded $141 million.

Moreover, the non-petroleum exports recorded $65 million in 2017.

The Egyptian exports to Japan were various and included LNG, petroleum products, ceramics and garments, carpets, floor coverings, aromatic plants, cotton, dried vegetables especially onions, and food products including jam frozen strawberries and processed potatoes.
